UCI Emergency Management Plan

UCI's Emergency Management Plan addresses the campus community's planned response for various levels of man-made or natural emergency situations including fires, hazardous spills, earthquakes, flooding, explosion and civil disorders. The campus is divided into 13 zones. This site also contains an "assembly area" for each building. These sites are to be used for evacuation purposes, but care should be taken in the event that the assembly area pre-determined is affected by the emergency. Some assembly areas have been updated for security purposes. These areas also contain names, phone extensions, and e-mail addresses of volunteers such as zone captains, building coordinators and floor wardens.

zotALERT is an emergency alert system that uses text messages to quickly notify the UCI community of a natural disaster, crisis response or need to secure the campus. To be used only in an emergency, zotALERT adds to the university’s existing emergency communications network. Sign up for zotALERT.

In the event of a major disaster affecting the campus and/or UCI Medical Center, the above telephone number will be activated. Call for a recorded message reporting the status of UCI and advising on closure, interruption of classes, work schedules, etc.

Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act

The Annual Security Report for all Students, Faculty and Staff includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings owned and controlled by UCI; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. Also includes institutional policies concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault and other matters.
