Student success

UCI is the nation’s No. 1 university doing the most to advance upward mobility. Our undergraduate and graduate student body looks like few others: Exceptional for its multiple and varied dimensions of diversity. Exceptional for shared drive, talent and ambition. Exceptional for the range of perspectives that fuel every aspect of UCI’s teaching and discovery. Our mission is simple and audacious: to be the world’s beacon of inclusive excellence – committed to creating a community in which all expect equity, support diversity, practice inclusion and honor free speech. With your partnership, we can continue to show the world what’s possible when innate potential meets genuine opportunity.

Our community

For over 50 years, generations of UCI students, faculty, staff and alumni have helped our community thrive through collaboration, creativity and innovation. With 90 percent of our graduates staying in the state, they’re integral to California’s future as they save lives through new cancer therapies, minimize societal inequities and make our communities more sustainable. Our alumni change their own lives with their UCI education but are also empowered to change the trajectory of their families and those around them. Gifts large and small change the lives of these students, Orange County communities and beyond.

UCI researchers are working on what matters to all of us: saving the planet; solving the mysteries of the brain, learning and memory; living longer, happier lives; and making our region one of the most prosperous global innovation hubs. With your partnership, we can reach the world in record time with exponential advances in science, medicine and a better understanding of the human experience.

Did You Know?

The New York Times named UCI No. 1 among U.S. universities "doing the most for the American dream" in its 2017 and 2015 College Access Index. The ranking measures economic diversity based on several factors: the share of students receiving Pell Grants (which typically go to families making less than $70,000 a year); the graduation rate of those students; the net cost, after financial aid, that a college charges low- and middle-income students; and endowment per student.
