About the dashboard
UCI has been a community leader in its approach to public health and wellness during the pandemic. It developed leading-edge programs designed to maintain a healthy environment and help control the spread of coronavirus within the campus community.
UCI is abiding by the University of California’s vaccine policy, which requires all students, faculty and staff to receive a coronavirus vaccine or have an approved exception before coming to campus. The university developed rigorous contact tracing, vaccine navigation and testing programs to ensure that those carrying the virus receive proper care without spreading disease. Our team of contact tracers works closely with people who test positive, proactively reaching out to others who may have been exposed to the virus and arranging for possible quarantine. More information on testing and scheduling is available here; more on UCI’s contact tracing strategy is available here.
UCI also developed innovative teaching and learning models so students who must quarantine or study remotely can have a high-quality, enriching experience. It also invested in improved heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to filter the air entering its buildings.
The dashboard statistics below cover both on-campus and off-campus UCI community members beginning Sept. 5, 2021. Historical data is available on this page. Employees of UCI Health clinical operations are not included. The recovery counts represent positive cases that have been cleared by a physician. The information is provisional and is subject to change as updates occur.

In accordance with health privacy laws, we cannot disclose the identity or personal information of those affected. We are in coordination with the Orange County Health Care Agency and connecting with those who may have been exposed through contact. Numbers fluctuate day-by-day due to changes in patient condition(s). Data are gathered daily at one point in time and reflect the date that case submissions are reported.
Notification
Potential Workplace Exposure
Assembly Bill 685 requires employers to notify all employees who were at a worksite of all potential exposures to COVID-19 and notify the local public health agency of outbreaks.
