To maintain a healthy Anteater environment and help control the spread of coronavirus within the community, UCI established active testing and contact tracing programs for students, faculty and staff on campus.
Asymptomatic testing of on-campus students and staff occurs weekly, while those with symptoms are tested immediately. Our team of contact tracers work closely with those who test positive, proactively reaching out to those who may have been exposed to the virus and arranging for possible quarantine. More information on testing and scheduling is available here; more on UCI’s contact tracing strategy is available here.
The dashboard below represents the COVID-19 case counts of UCI community members who work, study or reside on our academic campus in Irvine. Employees of the UCI Health clinical operations are not included. The recovery counts represent positive cases that have been cleared by a physician.
In accordance with health privacy laws, we cannot disclose the identity or personal information of those affected. We are in coordination with the Orange County Health Care Agency and connecting with those who may have been exposed through contact. Numbers fluctuate day-by-day due to changes in patient condition(s). Data are gathered daily at one point in time and reflect the date that case submissions are reported.
Potential Workplace Exposure
Assembly Bill 685 requires employers to notify all employees who were at a worksite of all potential exposures to COVID-19 and notify the local public health agency of outbreaks.
For anyone who has been potentially exposed as a close contact (a close contact is someone you were within 6 feet of for at least 15 minutes within a 24 hour period), they will be contacted directly by UCI’s UCI Contact Tracing & Vaccine Navigation Services and provided appropriate instructions.
No locations were identified yesterday as places where people were during their infectious periods.
