Housing Updates for June 24th

Section 1

June 24, 2021

Hello Campus Residents,

As noted in the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs’ email, UCI Executive Directives were updated on June 21, 2021.

FACE COVERINGS: The updated Executive Directive states that individuals who are vaccinated are no longer required to wear face coverings on UCI controlled property, except when using public transportation or providing child care indoors, unless the child care is being provided inside your campus living unit.  Unvaccinated individuals, however, will need to continue to wear a mask when indoors and not in their assigned living unit, with a few exceptions which you can find in the Executive Directive.

GATHERINGS AND GUESTS: Further, the Executive Directives on gatherings and guests have been rescinded, along with the Student Housing Grad Gatherings policy.  Effective immediately, the campus housing communities will revert to pre-pandemic policies that govern gatherings and guests.  Please familiarize yourself with the applicable policies for your community.

UCI health care entities such as Student Health Center will continue to follow the protocols for face coverings and physical distancing for all student-patients and employees including temperature and daily symptom screening prior to entry.

SEQUESTRATION AND TESTING: New student residents who are not vaccinated are required to sequester for 10 days or until they receive 2 negative tests.  Unvaccinated students are required to test weekly during the summer months and into the fall.  To avoid all these policy expectations, as well as to bolster your and the community’s safety, we highly encourage you to get vaccinated and upload your vaccination record to your UCI Student Health Center Patient Portal.  For questions regarding student vaccination requirements, vaccine availability and uploading of records, please contact UCI’s Contact Tracing and Vaccine Navigation Services at 949-824-2300 or contacttracing@uci.edu.

Questions?  Please contact your community’s housing office if you need additional information or clarification.
