Randomized Asymptomatic Testing of Employees Fully Vaccinated Against COVID-19 Begins Oct. 4

Dear colleagues:

As part of UCI’s ongoing efforts to support the health and safety of the UCI community, we will begin randomized, asymptomatic testing of faculty and staff who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. This effort is a result of the newly revised Executive Directive for Student and Employee Testing. 

Every Friday, beginning October 1st, a random sample of employees will be identified, and notifications will be sent to the selected employee and their supervisor. Selected employees will be expected to test one time during the following week. 

If the employee is unable to test due to personal leave or having had COVID-19 within the past 90 days, or is currently symptomatic or currently under isolation/quarantine, then they will be added back into the pool for future testing.
