UCI UPDATES
New positive cases
Two undergraduate students living separately off-campus and three UCI employees tested positive for COVID-19 since our last update on Thursday. The students had no contact with anyone on campus and are recovering in self-isolation at home. One of the employees hasn’t been on campus since March. Contacts with the other employees are being notified. A complete case count for UCI campus employees and students is maintained at www.uci.edu/coronavirus.

Orange County backs state closure orders
To align Orange County with recent state directives, acting OC Health Officer Dr. Clayton Chau issued new orders Friday requiring the closure of: bars (with certain exceptions); indoor dining at restaurants; movie theaters; wineries and tasting rooms; family entertainment centers such as bowling alleys and miniature golf; zoos and museums; and cardrooms.
Antibody drug moves to phase 3 trials
A combination antibody treatment for COVID-19 from Regeneron has begun phase three trials to evaluate its ability to prevent infection in people who have been in contact with an infected person.
California sees highest one-day jump of cases
California recorded 11,786 new cases of coronavirus on Sunday, the highest one-day jump seen anywhere across the nation so far.
