UCI launches fall-quarter student COVID testing
Under smoke-filled skies, 194 students took self-administered COVID-19 tests Wednesday as UCI debuted its mandatory wellness check program for ACC and dorm residents. After making appointments, the mask-clad Anteaters lined up at an outdoor testing station and followed staff instructions on how to swab each nostril and seal their specimens for lab analysis. Day 1 went off without a hitch, officials said. Over the next week or so, all of the nearly 3,600 students currently living in UCI and ACC housing will be tested. Additional testing will take place as other students move into campus housing later this month. For more information, visit https://uci.edu/coronavirus/students/testing.php.
