Nurturing an early interest in neuroscience

During last year’s coronavirus lockdowns, a teenage violinist who took part in UCI’s 2019 summer brain camp came up with an idea. Inspired and supported by UCI’s Center for the Neurobiology of Learning and Memory, Nikhita Kaushik launched a group for high school students who are fascinated by the brain.

Altruism project 9

Dear UCI Staff, Thank you for all the incredible work you have done at UCI. The students are all appreciative of everything you have done to make online learning enjoyable. As a freshman, I was especially grateful to join this amazing community, even virtually, and meet the wonderful UCI faculty. So, thank you for all that you have done. I hope you have a relaxing summer, you deserve it.
Best wishes,
A UCI freshman
