Dr. Alpesh N. Amin named Orange County’s 2022 Physician of the Year
Established in 1983, the Orange County Medical Association’s Physician of the Year award recognizes a regional physician whose career exemplifies extraordinary professional ability and a commitment to their patients and colleagues. Amin serves as chair of the Department of Medicine and executive director of the UCI Health Hospitalist Program. “Throughout the COVID pandemic, Dr. Amin has played a leadership role in providing therapeutics, including opening a monoclonal infusion clinic, and clinical trials,” says UCI Health CEO Chad T. Lefteris. “He is an internationally recognized leader in the field of hospital medicine and pioneered one of the nation's first hospitalist programs in 1998 at UCI Medical Center. Dr. Amin is the first and only chairman of an academic health system's department of medicine with a hospital medicine background.”
