Federal Updates for the UC Irvine Community

Resources and updates on federal policies

UC Irvine understands that evolving federal directives and orders may bring uncertainty to our campus community. We remain committed to providing clarity, support, and resources to help navigate these changes. At UCI, we take pride in fostering an environment where every individual can pursue their own version of the American dream—just as we always have and always will.

Campus leaders—including representatives from the Offices of Research, Student Affairs, and Academic Affairs—are actively monitoring federal developments in collaboration with the University of California Office of the President (UCOP), federal relations experts, and legal counsel. As new guidance emerges, we are assessing its impact, ensuring compliance, and supporting students, faculty, and researchers. Our top priority is to maintain clarity and stability so UCI’s teaching, research, and public service efforts continue uninterrupted.

The University of California is also engaged with national higher education organizations, including the Association of American Universities (AAU) and the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU). These partnerships strengthen our advocacy and keep us informed about federal policy changes affecting research, education, and funding.

We recognize that federal policy changes can raise questions and concerns. UC Irvine remains dedicated to providing guidance and resources to support our community through these developments. Thank you for your patience and engagement as we navigate these changes together.
