Community Health Benefits
- More people in Orange County, especially those in the southern and coastal areas, will have access to the life-enhancing therapies, advanced innovations, leading experts and complex procedures that are only found at the world’s foremost research and academic health institutions. UCI Health is the only Orange County health system powered by the University of California.
- The new UCI Medical Center will offer unique services not found in the local community, such as the UCI Health Center for Advanced Care, the Center for Children’s Health, a nationally designated cancer center and an integrative, evidence-based approach to personalized patient care. It will also offer urgent and emergency care, adult specialties and offices devoted to oncology, neurosciences, orthopedics, and spine and digestive health.
- The grounds surrounding the medical center will include a healing garden and naturescapes along the protected San Joaquin Marsh Reserve, where UCI researchers will continue actively studying the environment and sustainability. - The parklike grounds of North Campus, surrounding the medical center, will include naturescapes, footpaths and trails along the San Joaquin Marsh, providing a beautiful place for the community to gather and enjoy nature.

- The development of the UCI Medical Center/North Campus project will improve mobility and relieve traffic congestion for pedestrians, public transit, cars and alternative modes of transportation through the addition of two eastbound right-turn deceleration lanes on Jamboree Road at Birch Street and a westbound left-turn lane at the Jamboree Road and Birch Street intersection.
